Kate, it’s difficult to find the words to express the gratitude we feel. To have you capture the most amazing and life-changing day, the birth of our precious daughter, is appreciated from the very bottom of our hearts. How do you thank someone for being unobtrusive, yet intuitive; able to capture every breathtaking moment without us even knowing you were taking photos.
Not to mention your help along the way during labour day – you were incredibly supportive! The photos are beautiful, tasteful, respectful and convey so much emotion. We were somewhat apprehensive about having photos of the birth but they are incredible and we are so glad we did it! Each time we look at them, we remember how we felt at each moment and that’s due to your exceptional talent. You will always be a special part of our journey as a family.
Love Amy & Matt (& Paige of course) xxx
I wiped away tears and tried to change the settings on my camera at the same time.
In front of me, a woman was bringing a child into the world and despite my knowledge of where babies come from, I was still awe-struck by actually witnessing the process take place. Amy and I went to high school together and despite having no contact for the last 9 or so years, here I was, with her husband Matt and the midwives at Ashford Hospital in Adelaide.
I get a bit emotional at weddings sometimes, even stranger’s weddings, but birth was a whole new level of emotion. A big thank you to Amy, Matt & Paige for letting me be part of this incredible day. It truly was an unforgettable thing to be part of and something I hope I can do again, for many other families.
The following images are not too graphic in nature but do depict a natural birth in a hospital environment.
