Mum Mel (of Milk Photography) is always running off to take photos of other people – me included – so it was a special thing to be returning the favour with all FOUR kids on board!

I’m going to post some images tomorrow, but for now I wanted to share this video of our evening at the beach. It’s pretty hard to beat fish ‘n’ chips as the sun goes down…

Jo and Darren (or Razzle Dazzle, as is affectionately scrawled on the kitchen wall) were in the middle of a kitchen renovation when Aleksia arrived...

One thing I love about homes with new babies is how warm they are. It’s the middle of winter, but as soon as you step inside you’re pulling off layers. In this home, Aleksia is kept toasty warm, and I don’t think it’s just the heater doing so.

Jo and Darren (or Razzle Dazzle, as is affectionately scrawled on the kitchen wall) are in the middle of a kitchen renovation. Camp-style cooking out on the verandah in the middle of winter can’t be fun, but every time they come in from the cold, they step into a room full of coziness. That kitchen is going to look awesome when Dazzle finishes things, but I don’t think Aleksia minds. She’s got everything she needs in these two parents, who couldn’t love her harder if they tried.

They say you can choose your friends, but you can’t choose your family. I think this is only half-true.

Above is the family I was born with. My Dad, with the moustache that has nearly always been there. The one that makes my friends think of Tom Selleck or Colonel Sanders. I’m the one in the dots, next to Mum – all 4’11 inches and a half. My sister Sally is on the end. She and I can’t buy a bottle of wine without ID, despite being 25 & 27. We all got into the Zoo last year on a family ticket – they thought we were under 14.

I didn’t choose them, but I sure got lucky when they were handing out parents and siblings.

The other part of my family, well it’s a different story. This is Simon, and of all the people in the world, we chose each other. In February 2013 we will be husband and wife, and then someone help the children that don’t get to choose us.

This website is all about the families I meet through my camera, and a bit about my own as we go along.

So this is my family… now tell me about yours!
