More often than not, I already know the bride and groom before photographing their wedding. Old school friends, friends of the family, friends of friends – it’s part of being from Adelaide. Morgan is a close friend of my sister Sally, and I’ve been to a BBQ or two at Morgan and Mitch’s house. I love having a prior connection to people, as it makes the day just a bit more casual and relaxed.
Morgan and Mitch were married at O’Leary Walker Wines in the Clare Valley. It’s about a 90 minute drive from Adelaide, in the heart of South Australia’s wine region. They have only recently started hosting weddings, but their Cellar Door Manager, Amanda, is lovely to work with and eager to please. The views from the verndah are amazing, and the wine isn’t too bad either!
I also set up a photo booth for guests at the reception, which was well-used throughout the night. You can check out a quick video (less than 2 minutes) of the shenanigans as the night progressed on this page.
